The new Second Cycle Studies Program “Professional Master for Security and Public Order” offers the improvement of the quality of security, this “commodity” highly demanded in the market by giving opportunities to employees of security and public order structures, such as the sector both public and private, to deepen their knowledge, in order to train them with modern professional knowledge of security as well as with stable knowledge in related fields, thus influencing the development of management capacities of their structures. .
In order to start meeting the professional educational needs of this growing job market and increase the role and performance of the Private University High School “Luarasi” in the local and regional education market, we propose the opening of the Faculty of Law of the Private University High School “Luarasi” of the study program of the second cycle, in the form of “Professional Master for Security and Public Order”. The Second Cycle program, “Professional Master for Security and Public Order” extends to one academic year, in two semesters and contains 60 ECTS credits. To whom is this Master addressed?
In Albania, the Security and Public Order Sector today includes a number of about 31,000 public and private sector employees. Of these, about 10,000 are in the structures of the State Police; 8600 in the structures of the Armed Forces; 550 in the Prison Police; 1150 in the structures of the Municipal Police; 1500 in the State Intelligence Service; 450 in Tax Investigation structures; 150 in the Customs Service; 110 in the Vehicle Road Control Structure in the Ministry of Transport and 8500 in the structures of the Private Police (Armed Civil Guard Service).
Meanwhile, in the Republic of Kosovo this sector includes about 20 thousand employees. Of these about 8000 in the structures of the Kosovo Police Service; 1000 in the Kosovo Intelligence Agency; 3000 active employees and 2000 reservists in the Kosovo Security Forces; about 5000 in Private Physical Security Companies as well as about 800 employees in the Municipal Police. This market in Kosovo is expanding as the security structures there are still in the process of formation and expansion. Meanwhile, the public and private education system, in Albania and Kosovo, offers almost no study programs of the second level “Professional Master” in support of this large and expanding market.
