Professor Haxhia graduated in Law from the University of Tirana in 1982. In 1985 he graduated from the Faculty of Economics. He has received several academic titles such as “Candidates of Science” (1990), “Doctor of Legal Sciences” (1994), “Associate Professor” (2004) and “Professor” (2013). During his career he has completed several specializations in Albania and abroad, including a specialization at Harvard University. In 1992, he was the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Albania. He joined the National Bar Association in 1992 and has been its president since 2000. Also, he has been a member of the board of the School of Magistrates since 2000. For the period 1985 – 1992, he worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and since 1997 he is a part-time lecturer at the School of Magistracy. He is the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the School of Advocacy and a responsible lecturer at this School since January, 2013. In 2002, he was a member of the working group for drafting the law “On Declaration and Control of Assets, Financial Obligations of Public Officials and some public servants”, as well as author of the Law “On the profession of lawyer in the Republic of Albania”. He was a member of the Technical Staff for drafting the Constitution in 1998 as well as the author of several books and articles.
